Why Yoga and Ayurveda?

The Day I had My Stroke/ The Day I Graduated Yoga Training

Let Me Introduce Myself

I'm a Retired School Nurse, A Grandmother and Great Grandmother, A Stroke Survivor and Now a Yoga Therapist and Ayurvedic Health Educator.

I was, We were Raised Vegan. My Parents always Leaned Toward a Healthier Lifestyle where even Sugar and Refined Carbs (Bread, Cookies, Crackers) were limited in Our Diet. We were Encouraged to be active and regularly exercised as a group. I've done Yoga since the age of 13 and I maintained that lifestyle until 2011, when I had a Stroke at 48.

A Stroke- How Can That Be?!?

I'm a Nurse, been a Nurse since I was 21 and Recognized what was Happening but because I Ate Healthy- I Was Vegan!! I Worked Out Hard, 2-3 Hours 6 days a week plus a Trainer twice weekly- I Couldn't Believe it... Not Me!

As I recovered I Seriously started looking at my diet and contacted a Dietician. They showed me my lab work and how deprived My body was of basic nutrients while having an overflow of others. I no longer had the stamina to take a Zumba, a Bootcamp then a Kick Boxing Class. I Felt defeated and started looking into an Ayurveda as a way to Regain what I had Lost, I had No Idea of the Changes in Store.

I Quickly Saw and Felt the difference the Diet and Exercise Regime change was having on My Physical, Emotional and Mental Health and Began Adopting more and more Ayurvedic Principles.

Then 2020, The Pandemic Shut Down the World! Everyone was Home and Looking for Things to do to Keep Our Sanity.

The Pandemic in 2020 allowed Me the Opportunity to become Certified to teach Yoga, One of My Bucket List Dreams!

Since Then, I've gained over 1500 hrs of Yoga Education, including a 6 month Ayurvedic Course, Trauma Sensitive and Shame Informed Courses with Certifications in Those as Well.

My Goal is to Educate Others, Sharing Healthy Practices that Helps Us All Live and Age Well. To Teach You How Food is Medicine and We can Use it To Heal or Ease Chronic Illnesses. To Encourage Us All to Be An Active Participant to Our Own Health Journeys.

I Invite You All to Come Along,

Sending You Love,

Tazz
